Georg Parthen (b. 1977 in Wiesbaden) is a german artist.
In his practice he investigates the relationship between the photographic medium and its documentary claims. Parthen received a Diplom (MFA) in Documentary Photography from the Folkwang School of Design (Essen, Germany) in 2007 and an MFA Photography from the Hartford Art School in 2010. His work has been widely exhibited in Europe and the US such as at museum kunst palast, Düsseldorf, Chelsea Art Museum, NYC, the West Collection, Chicago and the Kunsthalle Bremen. Parthen's works are in the permanent collections of museums and collections such as the Ministry of the Environment, Berlin, the West Collection and the museum kunst palast Düsseldorf.
